Creative Kids (an organization created by authors Jasmine Walker and Gloria Day) held their first annual "Back to School Celebration" in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, CA. Volunteers, friends, family, members of the community, and of course, lots of Creative Kids, came out for a day of fun and collective creating. Children enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts, free books and school supplies, haircuts, games, music, and fellowship!
Creative Kids Literacy Fair, a collaboration between children’s author/illustrator Gloria Day and FreeThoughtWriting, teaches and encourages underserved youth to tap into their own creativity. In addition to learning about the importance of literacy, children can also discover and explore various types of creative arts at “Demonstration Stations” that have theme-specific activities for children to participate in.
