In my book, there is always an opportunity to let art be more than just something to look at. Last month, I was invited to be one of nearly 30 L.A. based artists featured at a RAW Artist event – an organization that showcases underground and independent artists in different cities all over the world.
I thought it would be fun to interact with guests and get to know them as they stopped and glanced at my work. I handed them a clipboard with a print of my “Childhood Heart” illustration attached and asked them a simple question…
If you could have a face-to-face conversation with your inner child today, what would he/she ask or say to you?
The question was usually followed by a slight smile, a little laugh, a heavy sigh, and for some – even tears. But everyone who participated took a moment away from the buzz of the event, connected with their inner child, and wrote down their answer.
